Jenny Gilbert Digital Legacy Coach

Jenny has over 40 years experience as an educator, and 25 years experience in organising, preserving and scrapbooking family photos and documents. She is passionate about helping others to sort, organise and share their photo collection, both digital and physical. In 2025, she became a qualified professional Photo Manager with the set of skills needed to sort and organise photos for you, or to help you to do it yourself. She understands the overwhelm many of us feel about our ever growing collection of photos and videos, endless camera rolls, and inheriting the family albums and boxes of loose photos. She is passionate about helping you make good decisions about the collection, preserving what matters most and ensuring your photo and story legacy is there for generations to come.

The task of a Photo Manager is to help you create an organised easy to access photo collection that preserves those memories that matter most for now and into the future. It is not an easy task, and is very much like the laundry. Your laundry sorted, cleaned, put away, in place where you can find it again if needed. Even more importantly, it is a task that is never ‘done’. Similarly your collection of photos needs to be collected, sorted, and filed away. Tomorrow there will be more photos to organise, just as there is even more laundry to do. We take thousands of photos annually and at some point, you need to start organising them or run out of space on your phone or in your cloud storage. Not to mention, you need to have a  local backup of the really important ones!

Organising your library of photos is not an easy task if you are uncomfortable with the cloud, your devices, and the software you might be using to organise your photos. A Photo Manager can teach you how, or, you could hire them to do it for you. Fortunately once you curate a good library of photos from the past, it is a fairly simple to organise current photos with some new habits and knowledge.

Jenny can also support you to get your inherited physical photos, slides, negatives and even videos digitised and appropriately archived. It is possible to have her do the scanning for you and she will outsource the videos to another local business. You could also simply learn how and use the equipment at Mildura Library if that is your preference. But be warned - doing good quality scans does take time so there are some important things to know before you DIY.

Jen’s photo collection

Jenny has successfully pulled together a collection of over 200,000 photos, identified and deleted over 100 000 duplicates (thanks to back up of back ups - yes Jenny did have a mess!) and is now curating the remaining 60 000 images and videos into a meaningful collection that can be accessed by future generations.

Contact Jenny today to discuss your photo organisation goals and discover how she can help you reach them.
Of these photos, the important ones are shared in Forever Permanent storage for the benefit of immediate and extended family. Jenny has also created historical photo books which are also kept at Forever. She is currently in the process of digitising all her physical scrapbook albums which will make these accessible to all of the family , present and future, no matter who holds the physical albums. It is in this way she reaches her goal of preserving and sharing the family legacy.
